Committee on Alabama Monument Protection


The Committee on Alabama Monument Protection (CAMP) was created by the Alabama Memorial Protection Act of 2017 (Act 2017-354). Its responsibilities include considering and acting on applications for waivers authorized by the act and adopting administrative rules providing for implementation of the act. 

The Committee meets at least once annually in October. Other quarterly meetings are scheduled but may be cancelled if there is no business for the Committee’s consideration. Notices and packets for upcoming meetings are posted on this site. Notices are also posted on the Alabama Open Meetings Act site.

The Technical Advisory Review Group (TARG) provides administrative and technical review of Applications for Waiver to ensure the applications are complete and include the required information for consideration and that the information provided is consistent with the intention of the Act and applicable to the waiver request.
